America’s Best Hockey Town is in North Dakota
The University of North Dakota's hockey season may be over, but that doesn't mean there's isn't reason to celebrate. For the fourth straight year, 'America's Best Hockey Town' is Grand Forks.
According to an annual study by Smart Asset, Grand Forks is once again the 'America's Best Hockey Town.' Several metrics were used to determine just what city would earn the title, but thanks to an overwhelming statistic of UND hockey game's seats being 99 percent occupied and the fact that Grand Forks Googles the word 'hockey' more than the word 'food,' it wasn't such a surprise that the North Dakota city once again earned the distinction.
Did we also mention that it's home to two gold medal-winning Olympians, twin sisters Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson and Monique Lamoureux-Morando? (Just in case you forgot.)
It also doesn't hurt that in a town of approximately 57,000 people, the stands at Ralph Engelstad Arena are visibly full to their 11,640 seat capacity.
As you can see from the map, Mankato and Saint Paul in Minnesota also made the list at 4th and 10th, respectively.
Congrats again to Grand Forks on being named 'America's Best Hockey Town!'
