It’s that time again; time to get back to school. Classes are back in full swing for me and for my kids. I enjoyed the short break but now it’s back to business. For a lot of people it is crunch time, the last semester and then graduation. From kindergarten to high school seniors all the way to college graduates getting their Associate’s and Bachelor’s degrees, press on and don’t quit.

A high school senior, if you haven’t started looking into colleges now’s the best time to do it! Nothing feels better then walking across that stage and being handed the degree you worked so hard for. If you are considering joining the military, I Salute You! From one veteran to a future service member, its hard work but it is something I can look back on and feel proud that I did it.

College graduates, use the knowledge you gained to help make a better life for yourself, your family, and your community. I have been looking into jobs and making contacts for the last year so when I get my degree I have a foot in the door and am ready to hit the ground running when I start my new job.

Remember, now that school is back in session for our elementary students, you have to be aware of peak times around schools and the buses. Check you speed when in a school zone, especially around crosswalks in front of schools. The last thing we need is for a young kid to be hit by a car. Speed limits in and around schools are 15mph in some zones and 25mph in others.

Tell me some of your plans after graduation. Do you plan on hitting the workforce, joining the military, or furthering your education? Let’s all be safe and finish this school year with no incidents.
