In politics, having a majority is like having a birthday every day of the year! But it's even better, because you can get what you ask for! It's not at all exclusive to the Biden Administration. To the winner goes the spoils!

To be fair, Joe Biden ran a campaign that was anchored in radically facing climate change issues head on. So here's where the head butting begins.
Back on January 27th, the Commander In Chief issued:

TACKLING THE CLIMATE CRISIS AT HOME AND ABROAD EXECUTIVE ORDER

You can read it all here at whitehouse.gov

It contains this portion-

  • The order commits to the goal of conserving at least 30 percent of our lands and oceans by 2030 and launches a process for stakeholder engagement from agricultural and forest landowners, fishermen, Tribes, States, Territories, local officials, and others to identify strategies that will result in broad participation.

The Executive Order and it's many facets were scheduled to begin moving forward on Earth Day 2021. Well, that was Thursday April 22nd.  Friday April 23rd, Republican Governors dig in with a united front with Texas Governor Greg Abbot in the lead. (I'm still cheesed off at Texas for having the guts to try to "investigate" other state's election processes.  Who asked for your help ya jerks!)

But Texas is well in it's rights to challenge the President on his intent to increase the conservation of lands and oceans by 2030.  Especially since according to the Governors' opposition statement- only 12% are currently "conserved".  That's a proposed 150% increase in just 9 years!

By "Governors", I'm referring to the 15 state governors that signed the opposition statement.

North Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Texas, Alaska, Idaho, Montana, South Dakota, Utah, and Arizona.

All states Biden LOST in 2020.

Yeah, yeah...I know he won Arizona, but only by 9,000 votes out of 3.3 million!

Where's the griping Governors from the states he won?

New Mexico? Colorado? Minnesota? California?  Anybody?

As always, politics as usual.
