Over 100 people joined the Iron Cowboy on a fun 5K run at Cottonwood Park on Tuesday, July 21.

James Lawrence, also known as the Iron Cowboy, is completing a 50-50-50 tour which includes a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride, and 26.2 mile run in each state. 100% of the donations received are donated to The Jamie Oliver Food Foundation.

Lawrence is down to his last five states making Bismarck his 46th stop. His oldest daughter has been by his side and participated in each of the 5Ks. This one was extra special as his mother flew into Bismarck to join him for the last five states of his tour.

Mark Maddocks, the North Dakota Ambassador, had great things to stay about our state:

North Dakota showed up in a very big way today! 119 people came out to do the 5K with the Iron Cowboy and that is awesome! People had written off North Dakota, but everyone showed up and it is amazing to see!

Lawrence and his team kept followers updated on the Iron Cowboy's Bismarck adventure through Facebook and Twitter.

James is on the bike and is excited about how flat North Dakota is! #ironcowboy #IC505050 #IC46 #fightthefight
