Well there's the new logo for Bismarck, North Dakota!

Y'see, the "k" finishes the bottom left point of the star.  Which is clever! Do ya think?

I'm suffering from waffle syndrome on this...I keep going back and forth in my brain- do I love it or don't love it?

More like somewhere in the middle.  I like it...I think.

Before we get to Bismarck's new slogan, let's flashback to a story I wrote last week.If you read that than you know I have the utmost respect for Agency MABU and their body of work.  The methodology they apply to projects to achieve tangible results and benefits as been well awarded over the years  Their a locally based agency with an international reputation for quality.  Some I'm going to trust their research in coming up with this slogan just like I'm going to trust some of y'all to throw them under the bus in the comments.  So here it is!

"Bismarck's The Spot"

OK, that just a tagline...like "I'm Lovin' It" is a tagline for McDonalds..

In entertainment, a tagline is a short text which serves to clarify a thought for, or is designed with a form of, dramatic effect. Many tagline slogans are reiterated phrases associated with an individual, social group, or product

So here's what the agency refers to as an additional messaging theme that would define Bismarck's persona...

"Bismarck's the spot you're proud to call home."

So this all has now been approved by the Bismarck City Commission as part of their Strategic Communications Plan. Time for City agencies and departments to start changing their stationary and personalized hand towels.

“We are very appreciative of the Commission’s approval and energized to begin implementation of the refreshed brand identity and tagline 'Bismarck’s The Spot' across all of the City’s departments and divisions,” said Gloria David, Public Information Officer. As the City continues on its strategic plan journey, the logo and tagline will slowly be implemented into all communication mediums, and other projects will continue moving forward. The Commission will also be reviewing the City’s updated Social Media Policy in the near future.

Bismarck, Is this new direction "spot on"?

LOOK: Here are the 50 best beach towns in America

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.

Keep reading to see if your favorite beach town made the cut.
