One great thing about North Dakota is its incredible night skies. According to UFOIndex.com, several UFO or UAP sightings have taken place in North Dakota in the past few years, and we thought it might be interesting to take a closer look at what locals claim to have seen. We've put together a list of the 5 most recent sightings.

5 Recent UFO Sightings In North Dakota

Many witnesses chose not to include their names, but we were able to review their statements.

1.

The first one happened in April 2024 in Washburn, North Dakota.

I looked into the night sky, and I saw a triangle-shaped UFO. There were 3 lights on it, one at each point of the triangle. They aren't colored, just like a gray light is what it looked like. The lights lit up the interior surface, and while it was barely visible, it almost had a mirror effect. It was moving southwest at a very fast speed and was completely silent. And then it just disappeared.

This witness said they waited for it come back and saw it again moving from east to west. They said it was very fast and made no sound and almost looked like it stopped for a second before it shot out of eyesight.

2.

This second sighting took place in Fargo, North Dakota at 2:25am on April 5th of 2024. What this person was doing up at 2 in the morning, we can't say, but their story does sound pretty unsettling. Here's what they said in their statement.

I walked outside to let dog out. Saw 1 craft from south west lights appear out of no where traveling north west at a speed I have never seen before and then lights disappeared, no sounds. Followed by a second one that did the same thing. Felt like less than a minute and super high speed.

3, & 4.

The third sighting took place in Dickinson, North Dakota on March 2nd, 2023.

I was driving with my step mom when we saw this weird this in the sky and it had two little things that were connected and we saw the was changing color and one of them completely went dark so it looked like it was moving and we kept watching and it kept getting further and closer then completely vanished.

Want to know what makes this sighting particularly spooky? - It was actually one of two sightings in the same area on the same day. Later that evening, another person reported seeing something strange in the sky.

5.

Last but not least, we have a very detailed sighting from Mandan, North Dakota. The person claims to have seen something very strange while driving east on I-94 on February 6th in 2023.

I saw Elon Musk's satellites in a string in the sky; now having heard of these, but not seen them before I was curious to just watch them and as I watch them, I realize they’re evenly spaced, and the lights are equally bright on all the satellites, but there was something with a different light, following Elon‘s satellites from about a mile back behind it traveling west to east as Elon's satellites were. They looked as if they were 3 to 4 times higher in the sky than Elon’s satellites.

The witness says they spotted another strange object in the sky another day as well.

I saw what seemed to be a cigar-shaped shiny metal object that was super reflective and blasted off like the Millennium Falcon hitting warp speed. When I first saw this, I was very excited because I was with my family and I wanted to show my kids their first shooting star, but knowing what I know now I don’t quite believe there is such things as “shooting stars” and shooting stars, don’t change direction change trajectory, and then pause and hit warp speed so I don’t know what the ---- I was looking at.

Those are just a few of the many UFO sightings reported in North Dakota, but several more have been reported by prairiepublic.org, and they date back to 1948.

What do you think about these sightings? Do you think they truly are aliens and UFOs, or do you think these objects are likely new technology coming from the Minot Air Force Base? Or do you have another theory? - Let us know in our app.
