Budget Cuts Force UND to Cut Sports Programs
The states financial woes continue to plaque state university sports programs as announced from UND today in a press release.
The University of North Dakota Athletic Department made it official today (March 29) the school will be cutting three sporting programs, which include women’s hockey and the men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams.
These three sport programs will be cut at the end of the 2016-17 school year as a school wide effort to trim the budget in the upcoming school year.
According to the press release, the school says they need to eliminate close to $1.3 million from the school's budget.
