Carson Wentz recently underwent a CT scan that revealed a fractured vertebra and is an injury that has once again, threatened to shorten his season.

This coming Monday is exactly one year ago when Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz suffered a torn ACL/LCL against the Rams at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Going into this upcoming Sunday night, the storyline would've been Wentz and the Eagles taking on Jared Goff and the Rams in a matchup of the top two picks in the 2016 NFL Draft. However, that matchup will not involve the injured Wentz.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Wentz can fully recover from his fractured vertebra with proper rest without the worry of any other issues.

Nick Foles will play at quarterback for the Eagles in place of the injured Wentz. The Eagles (6-7) are attempting to keep their playoff hopes alive in their final three games with the first being a tough one to get on the road in Los Angeles against the Rams (11-2).

Coach Doug Pederson and the Eagles will continue to evaluate whether playing anymore this season could worsen Wentz's injury.
