Incoming freshman Nick Schmaltz became the sixteenth member of the University of North Dakota hockey team to be drafted in the first round of the NHL Draft on Friday, when the Chicago Blackhawks took him with the 20th pick.

The Blackhawks actually traded up to take Schmaltz, whose older brother Jordan was also drafted in the first round of the NHL Draft back in 2012.

Schmaltz, originally from Wisconsin, has spent the last two seasons with the Green Bay Gamblers of the USHL. There, he scored 36 goals to go along with 79 assists in 119 games.

According to The Bismarck Tribune, Nick's father, Mike Schmaltz, was supposed to be in Bismarck this weekend for the McQuade to reunite with his teammates on Orser, Olson, and St. Peter. Due to the draft, though, Schmatlz was in Philadelphia.
