An unspeakable tragedy occurred in Western Canada this past Friday when the Humboldt Broncos hockey team was hit by a semi-trailer, causing the deaths of several team members.

The bus was carrying 29 passengers on the bus. At least 15 were killed and 14 remain hospitalized with injuries. The junior hockey team came from a small Canadian town with a great passion for hockey.

The Humboldt community has been receiving tons of support on a national level. Hockey teams, players, and coaches from North Dakota are among those that have shown their support.

On a national level, several NHL teams paid tribute to the Humboldt Broncos.

An online fundraiser for the players and families affected by the tragedy has raised more than $3.8 million since Friday as of 3:45 p.m. on Sunday. NHL teams, corporations, and anonymous individuals are among those that have donated to the cause.
