Williston North Dakota School District Serving Up Free Summer Meals for Kids
Summer break is almost here in Williston, and for a lot of parents, that means the daily balancing act is about to begin. Between work schedules, keeping the house somewhat under control, and trying to answer the timeless question of “What’s for lunch?” every single day, summer can get expensive and exhausting in a hurry. The good news? The Williston Basin School District 7 is stepping up once again to make life a little easier for local families.
WBSD7 Food Services will once again provide free summer meals for all children ages 18 and under at several locations throughout Williston. That means families can worry a little less about grocery bills and focus a little more on enjoying summer vacation.
The program runs Monday through Friday from June 1 through June 26 and again from July 6 through July 31. Meals will not be served June 29 through July 3.

Free Summer Meals Available at Four Williston Locations for Kids and Families
Children can receive free meals at four convenient locations around town. Meal sites include McVay Elementary, Williston Garden Apartments, Davidson Park, and Housing Authority Park. McVay Elementary will offer both breakfast and lunch, while the additional locations will provide meal pickup opportunities designed to help families throughout the community.
Adults can also purchase meals for just $5, making it an affordable option for families who may already be stopping by with their kids.
There is one important thing parents should remember. If children are not physically present at meal pickup, a one-time consent form is required. Organizers encourage families to complete the form ahead of time to make the process quick and easy.

This program is more than just a free lunch. During the summer months, many families lose access to school breakfasts and lunches that students rely on during the academic year. Programs like this help make sure children continue receiving nutritious meals even when school is out.
Parents are encouraged to check specific pickup times for their preferred location, since schedules may vary slightly depending on the site.
Additional information, including pickup times, addresses, maps, printable flyers, consent forms, and details about the Summer EBT SunBucks program, can be found here.
For busy parents in western North Dakota, every little bit helps during the summer months. Free meals for kids? That’s one less thing to worry about.
