The Minnesota Vikings were Carson Wentz's Favorite Football Team Growing Up

Much like most Bismarck kids growing up, Carson Wentz was a Minnesota Vikings fan. You know doubt saw the photos of Carson attending Minnesota Vikings games as a youth at the old Metrodome. These photos were shown at several Minnesota Vikings games broadcast on network TV this past season. What a thrill it must have been for Carson Wentz to not only be a member of the Vikings but to see some significant playing time until a season-ending injury.

JJ McCarthy Talk

According to numerous reports, the Minnesota Vikings are no longer sure if JJ McCarthy is their franchise quarterback going forward, and they intend to bring in a veteran QB to not only be in the QB room but to compete for the starting spot. Could this veteran QB be Bismarck's Carson Wentz?

NFL Insider Adam Schefter's Take on the Vikings QB Room

His sources say Wentz will likely indeed be back in purple to start the 2026-2027 season, and Schefter also believes the Minnesota Vikings will add yet another veteran to compete for the starting job, in addition to Wentz.

Some veteran QB names that have been thrown around include Kyler Murray, Kirk Cousins, Geno Smith, Derek Carr, Malik Willis, Marcus Mariota, Aaron Rodgers, and Daniel Jones, who was with the Vikings this time last year. There have also been numerous reports that the Minnesota Vikings would love to trade for Cincinnati Bengals starting quarterback Joe Burrow, but that seems less likely than the names above. Same with a potential trade with San Francisco for Mac Jones.

As a Vikings fan myself, you can be sure that whatever the Vikes decide to do, it will be the wrong decision. Case in point, letting Sam Darnold go, and he goes on to win a Super Bowl the next season. The most Minnesota thing ever.
