North Dakota’s Carson Wentz Staying Ready For The Jets
I have to admit it, I'm pretty surprised that North Dakota's Carson Wentz is still not on an NFL roster.
Especially since he's been on record saying that he would take backup money. He would be more than a serviceable backup for any NFL team and a serious upgrade for most (he would be a much better QB2 for my favorite team the Minnesota Vikings).
It was widely believed that if Carson Wentz didn't end up on an NFL roster to begin the season, he would be one of the first players contacted if a current team lost a quarterback. Well, that is the case for the New York Jets as their highly paid free agent signing Aaron Rodgers has gone down with a season-ending Achilles injury.
The New York Jets have assembled a team that could make a deep playoff run.
After backup Jets quarterback Zach Wilson's performance last Sunday against Dallas, it's very apparent this team isn't going far with Wilson making the play calls.
Is Carson Wentz on the New York Jets radar?
You would have to think so. Even ESPN commentator and former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky believes the Jets should sign Carson Wentz. Other NFL experts agree and I know there's a lot of chatter on the radio in New York suggesting the same.
Rumor has it, that this will be a make-or-break week for current Jets starting quarterback Zach Wilson. The Jets are playing 0-2 New England and another poor performance from Wilson might just mean a Carson Wentz signing would be likely.
I sure hope that's true, as I personally would love to see the former Bismarck Century & Bison quarterback get another shot.
In the meantime, here's a live look at Carson getting ready for a call from the Jets. :)
