Say Goodbye To Gas Grills & Gore-Tex In North Dakota In 2024?
We love to grill in North Dakota.
It's a passion for many of us including myself. We do it year-round, even if the deck has a foot of snow on it, we fire up the gas grill on even a semi-warm day.
I must have grilled 4 to 5 times a week this past summer and fall. Everything tastes better on the grill. Am I right?
Well, of course, if you enjoy something in life, there's always going to be somebody who says you shouldn't do it.
Could we ever see a ban on gas or charcoal grills in North Dakota?
I'm sure you've heard rumblings about future restrictions on appliances and heaters that run on fossil fuels. We could even have a situation where you will be required to swap out all of your current appliances for all-electric (that's if you believe what the go-green people are saying).
Well, you can thank California for a lot of this talk. They are already set to ban the use of single-use propane tanks, and you can pretty much guess what will be next.
The same goes for Gore-Tex. Could it be going the way of the flip phone?
There's a big push to get rid of something that has been keeping us dry in North Dakota for many years. Gore-Tex. It's funny, I just received a Gore-Tex Sitka hunting jacket from my son for Christmas.
Yep, boots, hats, gloves, pants and so many other outdoor clothing that we use in North Dakota to keep us dry are coated with Gore-Tex, and there's a push to remove it. To be honest, I couldn't imagine being in our outdoors in North Dakota without Gore-Tex.
Gas stoves, gas-powered vehicles, and now clothing, there are a variety of items that all seem to have a target on them.
Well, we don't like to be told what we can and can not do in North Dakota, so I have to believe these potential new regulations would never fly in our state (unless they were to become national laws).
Let's hope so anyway. By the way, I plan to grill tonight after work. Who's with me?
