Today, the Bismarck-Mandan Chamber and the Protect our Turf Committee announced that North Dakota native Kat Perkins will headline the "Rock the Bowl" event on Saturday, September 13th to celebrate the opening of the newly renovated MDU Resources Community Bowl.

Kat will be joined on stage by Watford City native Jessie Veeder. Both Kat and Jessie are alumni of the Medora Musical. (A stage that Kat will be returning to later this summer).

Rock the Bowl festivities on the 13th will kick off at 3:30pm with a tailgate party on the West field of The Bowl. There will be inflatables and games for the kids, a beer garden for those of age, and food provided by Cloverdale Meats.

Doors for the concert will open at 6:30pm, with the show kicking off at 7:30.

Tickets go on sale July 1st at 7am. They can be purchased online via the Bismarck-Mandan Chamber website.

This event is the official Grand Opening event for the new MDU Resources Community Bowl. After 3 years and $8 million in funds ($5mm from sponsorship as well as $1.5mm each from the Bismarck City Commission and the Bismarck School Board), the renovated Bowl was first used to host the State Track Meet back in May. With new surfaces on the track and field, upgraded concessions, and 10 new suites, the hope is to hold more types of events in the Bowl now that the renovations are complete.
