North Dakota High School Offering Students Chance to Graduate with Associate’s Degree
Legacy High School will expand its dual credit classes offered to students.
Legacy High School and Bismarck State College have teamed up to give students the chance to excel. According to KFYR-TV, Legacy High School and Bismarck State College have worked to expand their dual credit classes offered to high school students. The expansion is a huge deal because it will actually give students the opportunity to get their Associate's Degree by the time they graduate high school.
More schools should offer dual credit programs to high schoolers.
What an incredible opportunity for Legacy High School students! Seriously, they go through four years of high school math, science, history, and other general classes just to do two more years of it when they get to college. And, and the collegiate level, those classes can cost thousands of dollars.
While offering dual credit is an amazing option for students, they should still not be pushed to go to college.
Speaking of thousands of dollars, we are in the middle of a student loan debt crisis. As someone who fell for the lie that college is necessary for success, I am pretty bitter about the debt I racked up and am throwing all my money into.
When I was in school, we were pushed so hard to take out loans, go to college, and we were putting ourselves in the position for complete and total financial success. College should definitely be more affordable and students should not be sold the lie about the career and financial success college leads to.
