#1 Halloween Injury In North Dakota
This is something you might not often think about ahead of the Halloween holiday, but a lot of people get injured around this time of year.
You might think the number one Halloween injury comes from excessive drinking. After all, there are a ton of Halloween trivia nights and costume parties in Bismarck, Mandan, and all across North Dakota. It makes sense; we get dressed up in restrictive costumes, wear heels, and often end up falling on Halloween. Nope, that's not it.

You might think the number one injury caused by Halloween involves driving. While we absolutely should not do this, some of us drink, drive, and crash on Halloween, but that's not it either.

#1 Halloween Injury
According to Consumer Product Safety Commission, the most common Halloween-related injury is almost a little silly. It's from carving pumpkins. That's right, 44 percent of Halloween-time injuries are cuts from pumpkin carving.
Twenty-five percent of people ended up in the emergency room around Halloween because they fell putting up decorations or tripped on their costumes.
Many other injuries that occur on Halloween are allergy-related.
Be careful carving your pumpkins this year, or to avoid injury altogether, you could always paint your pumpkins PINK to help us raise money for the Bismarck Cancer Center Foundation. All month, we are spreading hope with "Pink Pumpkins for a Purpose". Upload your pink pumpkin pictures to the Hot 97.5 App, and we'll donate $2 for each image.
