Surprising Amount North Dakotans Are Expected To Spend On Halloween
Halloween is one of the biggest holidays of the year. Christmas is obviously the most expensive holiday of them all, as we buy trees, gifts, and travel all over the country to spend time with our families. However, Halloween isn't without its expenses.
You have to buy candy for trick-or-treaters, you need costumes for each one of your kids, and you might even decide to dress up yourself.

Cost of Halloween in North Dakota
A study found how much Bismarck-Mandan families are expected to spend on Halloween in 2025.
Get ready, your jaw might drop when you hear this. According to RetailDive.com, Americans will spend $13.1 billion this year on Halloween across the country.
So, how does that break down for Bismarck-Mandan families? According to CIT Bank, the average Bismarck/North Dakota family will spend $652 this year if they have children. This is quite the jump from the $420 estimation from last year. Without children, the source says that you will spend approximately 215 dollars on costumes, haunts, and candy.
Hopefully, you can find ways to cut the costs on your Halloween expenses this year. Maybe you can go to some local thrift stores for costumes, or even Facebook Marketplace. I've seen several costumes posted there.
Good luck with your bargain hunting and have fun this Halloween.
Now that we know how much candy and costumes will cost, let's look at some of the most popular Halloween costumes in North Dakota over the decades.
