Local North Dakota Soldiers Receive Notification of Possible Deployment
The men and women assigned to the National Guard Dickinson, base 816th Engineer Company have received an alert notification for possible mobilization. The unit also has a detachment in Mott, North Dakota.
If called to action, this could affect more than 150 Soldiers to serve in support of Operation Enduring Freedom Afghanistan in early 2015. This would be the first overseas mobilization for Soldiers of the Company since 2006.
North Dakota has a lot to be proud of in terms of service, since the 2001, the North Dakota National Guard has mobilized more than 4,000 Soldiers and more than 2,400 Airmen in support of the War on Terrorism. About 70 percent of all members serving today have joined since that time.
