During a news conference on Thursday, September 8th, North Dakota governor Jack Dalrymple announced that he has asked the North Dakota National Guard to assist with efforts at the Dakota Access Pipeline protest sites.

According to InForum, members of the North Dakota National Guard are expected to help provide additional security at traffic points. There will also be members placed on standby, just in case there is a need for more assistance.

U.S. District Judge James E. Boasberg is expected to rule Friday, September 9th, on an injunction brought forth by the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe that would halt the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline.

No matter what the ruling is on Friday, Governor Dalrymple, obviously, feels that it is important to be prepared for more protests and possible violence.

Another Dakota Access Pipeline demonstration is already planned for Friday at 3 p.m. on the North Dakota state capitol grounds in Bismarck. The Bismarck Police Department is warning residents that there will be a higher volume of both people and vehicles than normal during the demonstration.
