National Weather Service Finally Projects Snow Totals for Christmas Day
The National Weather Service issued a Blizzard Watch for Christmas Day early Thursday morning but did not project any snowfall amounts.
On Friday morning, the National Weather Service finally felt comfortable releasing some projections.
It seems depending on where you are in Western or Central North Dakota you can expect between six and 12 inches of snow.
There is still the expectation for heavy snow and very dangerous travel conditions.
As for a timeline, the National Weather Service released another graphic.
As you get up early on Christmas morning to open your presents, you may see some snow but it won't be too significant yet. By the time you sit down for Christmas dinner, you'll have about half a foot of snow.
When you wake up on Monday morning, you can expect the snow to be over and should prepare yourself to do some shoveling.
