The Eastern Washington Eagles hosted the Maine Black Bears on EWU's signature red turfed Roos Field in the FCS Playoff semifinal. It would be the Black Bears seeing red all day as the Eagles found their way into the end zone frequently. EWU (12-2) led 28-0 over Maine heading into halftime on their way to a 50-19 victory and a date with NDSU in the FCS national championship game in Frisco, TX on Saturday, January 5th.
The Maine Black Bears' season ended with a record of 10-4.
Eagles quarterback Eric Barriere was 21 of 30 for 352 yards and 7 touchdown passes and Nsimba Webster caught 4 of those as part of his 9 receptions for 188 yards receiving.
NDSU (14-0) Coach Chris Klieman, along with defensive coordinator and head coach-in-waiting Matt Entz will have their hands full against a stellar Eastern Washington offensive attack as the Eagles average more than 44 points per game.
It'll definitely be a fun battle to watch in the FCS national championship on January 5th.
