Sad news broke in July of 2022; Bismarck's Woodhouse Restaurant announced it would be closing its doors.

Since then, the building has been sitting empty, and many of us have been patiently waiting to see what will come next.

Coming Soon

I spoke to the CRA Group, who listed the property; they told me there were multiple parts of the building available to lease.

The group confirmed that a lease had been signed for the majority side of the restaurant. The side with the party room and drive-thru is still available.

What Is It?

If you're wondering what kind of business will be occupying the leased space, you're not alone. After calling around and speaking to the above-mentioned source, I found that the old Woodhouse will soon be converted into a Japanese & Asian restaurant.

I've been trying to track down the owners of the new business for more details but have yet to hear from them to get the full picture. For now, just know this style of restaurant will be coming soon.

When?

I reached out to Bismarck's Environmental Health Division to see if any applications for a food and beverage license have come through for this business. I was informed that they haven't received anything just yet.

The CRA Group mentioned there are some improvements/renovations underway. As of now, the move-in date for the new tenants is tentatively January 1st, 2024.

With those two bits of information, we can assume it may be a while before the business officially opens, but I think I speak for many when I say we're excited to see what they will do with the space.

More Details

We don't have a lot of info just yet, but keep checking back; we will be updating this story as more information rolls out.

Feel free to send a message to andi.ahne@townsquaremedia.com if you have more information on this new business.
