NoDak Vikings Fans React To Coaches Choked Up Post Game Speech
The Minnesota Vikings were an absolute disaster in the first half of their Saturday afternoon contest against the Indianapolis Colts. The Vikes were down 33-0 at halftime. It couldn't have gone any worse.
The defense was their usual porous outfit. Turnovers by the offense, special teams miscues, you name it, the Vikings really came out flat.
It's not what you would've expected with Minnesota needing only a victory over the lowly Colts to win the NFC North division, and earn a spot in the playoffs.
It was reported that Vikings defensive cornerback Patrick Peterson told the offense at halftime, "we'll get the stops, you guys go out and get 5 touchdowns." A highly unlikely scenario but that's basically what the Vikings did.
When the smoke settled, the Minnesota Vikings set an all-time record for the biggest comeback in NFL history for the regular season, playoffs, or Super Bowl. A 33 points deficit was erased. The previous record was 32 points.
Kicker Greg Joseph kicked a 40-yard field goal in overtime to propel the Vikings to a 39-36 victory in what some are calling the greatest game in NFL history.
Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins threw for 460 yards and 4 touchdowns in yet another Minneapolis Miracle before a sell-out crowd at US Bank Stadium.
There's no doubt that first-year Minnesota Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell has brought a certain energy to the club that was lacking in previous years. This team never gives up as they are 10-0 in one-score games this season. It seems like every game is a nail-biter.
As great as of a comeback it was, it's what the coach said to the team at the end of the game in his post-game speech that has North Dakota and Minnesota Vikings fans everywhere talking. Here's that speech.
