We all have handles above our windows in our cars. Many of us call them "Oh Sh*t handles," and we know what they're for.

For as long as I've been riding and driving cars I've only known the handles to be used for two things:

#1. Grabbing when in fear for my life.

#2. Grabbing to help hoist myself up into a large truck. -- I'm short. It's a struggle.

Did You Know?

We all know there is a little hook on the side of the handle for hanging clothes you don't want to get wrinkled, but what if I told you there's another feature to the handle?

There are little tabs you can pull down to keep the handle from snapping back into place.

Here, I'll show you:

I'm not even slightly surprised that I'm the last person to learn this. Did you know this was a thing?

Why?

My only guess as to why the handle has this feature is so you can hang more clothes from it. I looked it up, and unfortunately, I am wrong.

What It's Actually There For:

I've seen other people post videos about this and say that the tab is not actually meant to lock the handle in place; it's a screw cover. Even so, it's your car, use it how you like!

Do you know of any other hidden features in cars that might make our lives easier? Hit us up through the app! Sharing is caring, after all.

As always, thanks for reading. TTFN!
