North Dakota has just 29 McDonald's locations statewide. No other state in the US has fewer locations.

I'll admit that as I share this information, I have no idea what your interpretation should be. McDonald's has over 14,000 locations in the U.S. and for the most part they are not difficult to find.

The data, released by 24/7 Wallstreet shows that there are 3.9 McDonald's locations per 100,000 residents. New Jersey, despite their 311 locations, have just 3.5 McDonald's per 100,000 residents.

Ohio has the most McDonald's locations per 100,000 residents with 7.1.

For what it's worth, Vermont has 30 McDonald's locations (4.8 per 100,000 residents) and Alsaska has 31 locations (4.2 per 100,000 residents).

It is important to note that despite our low number of McDonald's locations, an article we wrote a couple of months ago still holds true: North Dakotans have some weight on their bodies. If you don't like months old data, fortunately for you, we keep up with 'fat people news.' The most recent report from the 'State of Obesity,' released on Sept. 1, still shows that 31% of North Dakotans are overweight.

We can continue to analyze data or we can just use this information as a simple fun fact. The state with the least McDonald's locations is North Dakota. How fun!
