During the holiday season, North Dakota law enforcement made a point to crack down on impaired driving, and they're being awarded for it.

A total of 447 citations were issued in the state for impaired driving from December 16 to January 31. This, according to North Dakota Department of Transportation. Of those citations, 50 were DUI arrests, while 35 were drug arrests.

Law enforcement agencies were awarded by NDDOT for supplying additional traffic enforcement during the holiday season. A total of $418,879 for overtime enforcement from Oct. 1, 2016 through Sept. 30, 2017 has been awarded to the appropriate law agencies for their efforts.
