North Dakota No Longer Happiest State in the Country
In 2013, North Dakota was named the happiest state in the country. My how things can change in just 365 days.
According to The Grand Forks Herald, North Dakota dropped from the #1 spot on the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index in 2013 to #23 in 2014. It's the biggest drop in the seven-year history of the index.
Obesity in North Dakota is up 3%, while exercise is down 2%. Smoking is also on the rise, which led to the state's significant drop.
North Dakotans are also lacking in the love department, as the state ranked #45 in the social category.
South Dakota dropped one spot from 2013, from #2 to #3, while Minnesota dropped seven spots, from #4 to #11.
