North Dakota-Approved: Ways to Make Your Office More Fun

Whilst doomscrolling on Facebook today, I noticed something pretty interesting. There was a post on Bismarck's People Reporting News that got a ton of comments, and the topic was pretty interesting.

Someone anonymously posted that their boss asked them "How do we make this office fun again?" They explained that their boss wanted feedback on how they can make the workplace more enjoyable, and if they had any teambuilding ideas, and everyone weighed in.

The Comments

The comment section of this post has exactly what you would expect. Some people being negative, and talking about money, while others had a little fun with it.

Allow me to share a few of the ideas that were tossed around.

1. Easter Egg Hunts

I love this idea, though we might have an issue with getting eggs right now.

2. Do an Escape Room Activity

Umm yes, please!

3. Coloring Contests

Do I have a "Colorful Cats & Snacks" coloring book at home? Possibly.

Coloring is therapeutic and relaxing. I like it!

4. An Office Pet

There is definitely a living organism growing in our refrigerator here. Does that count?

5. Potlucks & Pizza Parties

Food always wins.

6. Chili Cook-offs

YESSSS.

7. Nerf Guns

Ok, but aim away from the eyes.

8. Hire a Massage Therapist

One person explained that their previous boss once hired a massage therapist to spend 20 minutes rubbing each employee's shoulders.

I once worked at a place where we printed out a bunch of pictures of Nicholas Cage and taped them all over the office. They were on phones, on food in the fridge, and even under desks. A year later we were still finding them.

Those were just ten ideas that were given, and I think they're all pretty great.
