North Dakotans Who Have Appeared On ‘The Voice’

The Voice has been watched in homes across North Dakota for years. We can't seem to get enough of it. We love watching people pursue their dreams and showcase their amazing talent. Now that the 29th season of the show is about to premiere, I thought it would be helpful to review all the people from our state who have appeared on the show.

North Dakotans On The Voice

Gwen Sebastian (2012)

Sebastian, a Hebron native, advanced to Season 2 of The Voice. According to the Grand Forks Herald, Three of the four judges turned around during her audition, but she ultimately chose to join team Blake Shelton. Sebastian was eliminated in the battle rounds.

Kat Perkins (2014)

According to First-Avenue.com, Kat Perkins is originally from Scranton, North Dakota. She spent several summers as the main act in the Medora musical. She moved to Minneapolis for a time, then made her television debut by auditioning for season 6 of The Voice.

She auditioned with the song, 'Gold Dust Woman,' and wowed the judges, receiving a three-chair turn.

She made it all the way to a top 5 finalist, performing songs like "Suddenly I See," Chandelier," and "Landslide" along the way.

Joseph Bommersbach "Blind Joe" (2015)

According to the Jamestown Sun, Blind Joe is from Kindred, North Dakota. He auditioned during season 9 and got a four-chair turn. Joe made it through the battle rounds but was sadly eliminated in the knockout round.

Michael Leier (2015)

Leier, a Fargo native, made it on season 8 of The Voice with a wonderful rendition of Pearl Jam's "Last Kiss." Leier received a two-chair turn and advanced through the show on Team Adam. According to US 103.3, he was eliminated in the battle round.

Getting Ready For The New Season

Those are all the North Dakotans we could find who made it on TV. Hopefully this season we will see another talented individual representing North Dakota.  According to NBC, season 29 of the voice returns February 23rd at 9/8c.
