Because of regional proximity, Minnesota and neighboring North Dakota, are inundated with Green Bay Packer fans.  Many are lifelong Packer backers, but many are bandwagon jumpers who latched onto the Green & Gold because of their divisional dominance dating back to the mid-90s.

Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers have been their only two QBs in the last 30 years.

So for decades, it's been pretty satisfying to be a Packer fan. Farve is in the NFL Hall of Fame and Rodgers will get there soon enough.  It's too much math to figure out how many starting quarterbacks the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings have ground up over that same 30-year period. The Detroit Lions managed to waste the first 11 years of QB Mathew Stafford's career.  Stafford left the Lions and won the Super Bowl the next year with the LA Rams. So that sort of speaks for itself.

Green Bay earned itself a non-stop bragging fanbase.

This season, however, Packer fans have been relegated to taking their seats near the back of the class. I'm not saying they're sitting with that solitary Lions fan, but they're moving into unchartered territory. There's a generation of Packers fans that have gleefully rode the Green & Gold wave their entire lives! Much like NDSU Bison fans but there's another conversation for you.

As their losing streak continues, Packers fans are feeling confused.

So now the Packers are staring into the abyss their NFC North rivals know all too well..

Sometimes you can't win them all.  Sometimes, you can actually lose most of them.  So it seems that I'm seeing a lot fewer Packers flags flying across the region.  Bars that were once overrun on game days by legions of Packer backers have to now try to pay the bills serving that singular Lions fan.

So where did all those super-loud, super-loyal Packer fans all go?

That's what Aaron Rodgers would like to know. The fanbase put up with his cavalier attitude toward the game because the Pack was WINNING! It's hard to read many positive things written these days about the former golden boy. But bitter fanbase beware, your QB is still a special talent.  Or is he?  Look at it this way, this season gives fans a chance to see there are better things to do in life than watch your team lose on gamedays. Welcome to life beyond the cheesehead.

Maybe, start a Packer Support Group. Viking fans know you don't want to go it alone.
