In a press release earlier today, Mandan Parks and Recreation announced that Raging Rivers will close for the season on August 28th.

Per the release, the park will open at Noon on Wednesday and Thursday of this week and close at 5pm, weather permitting. Admission both days will be only $8 per person.

Speaking with Kara Haff, Raging River Waterpark's Manager, she cited a lack of staff to properly operate the park as the reasoning behind the early closing for the season.

The lack of staff to operate seems to be a trend for businesses coming to the end of their summer season. Earlier this summer, Dairy Queen on Broadway in Bismarck closed early, citing a lack of employees necessary to sustain their operation.

Kara looks forward to opening up the 2015 season, as the park will go through almost $1 million in renovations and upgrades. Included in those will be a completely new kids play structure.

[UPDATE, 8/27/14, 8:06am]: The park has said on its Facebook page that it will honor 2014 day passes into next season until June 30, 2015. After that date, all 2014 passes will be considered expired.
