Travel Warnings for North Dakotans in 2026

Many North Dakotans are planning on doing a little bit of traveling this spring and summer. Maybe you want to go somewhere unique, somewhere far away, overseas. Before you book that flight and start making the arrangements, you should take a look at where the U.S. State Department has issued travel advisories.

The State Department lists all the places people should avoid and even assigns each advisory warning a level of danger (Levels 1-4). Below, we've listed the most dangerous places to travel to in 2026.

All of the areas below have been categorized as a level 4 danger zone.

This is the highest advisory level due to life-threatening risks. Specific risks are described in the Travel Advisory. The U.S. government may have very limited or no ability to help, including during an emergency. We advise that U.S. citizens do not travel to the country, to or leave as soon as it is safe to do so.

These areas are prone to the following: unrest, crime, kidnapping or hostage taking, poor health conditions, and terrorism.
