Thanksgiving is coming! Other holidays celebrate elaborate decorations, and gifts, but Thanksgiving celebrates bringing people together. What better way to bring people together than with food?

Planning The Feast

You might be planning out what you're going to make for the big feast. Before you set your menu in stone and rush to the store, you might want to consider doing something a little different.

Ditch. The. Turkey.

I know it's hard to stray away from the classics (turkey, green bean casserole, and stuffing), but maybe now is the time to give it a try.

Many North Dakotans are opting for a non-traditional Thanksgiving feast, without a turkey, and I have to admit, I'm kind of on board.

Is This Crazy?

I know you're probably thinking that a Thanksgiving without turkey isn't even a Thanksgiving, but it's not necessarily about what food we eat is it? - It's about bringing people together, right? I say, serve what you want!

What do you think about this fresh take on Thanksgiving? Would you be willing to be more adventurous and non-traditional and swap it out for one of these foods?

Personally, my vote goes to a fried chicken thanksgiving. We can still do all the sides (green bean casserole, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, etc).
