For the 16th straight season, the University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks are advancing to the Frozen Faceoff after a two-game sweep of Omaha.

Just 53 seconds into overtime, UND's Nick Jones banked a shot off the back of Omaha goalie Evan Weninger from behind the net to beat Omaha, 4-3 in an overtime thriller that sends the Fighting Hawks to the Frozen Faceoff next weekend at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, MN.

Matt Kiersted and Dixon Bowen gave UND a 2-0 lead in the first period before Omaha came right back with three straight goals and lead 3-2 in the third period when Jones redirected a shot from Colton Poolman past Weninger to tie it at 3-3 with 9:46 remaining in regulation.

Cam Johnson finished with 18 saves in goal for the Fighting Hawks.

The win comes off the heels of a 4-0 shutout of Omaha on Friday night in Grand Forks. UND will play next weekend in the Frozen Faceoff, beginning Friday, March 16th. Schedule and ticket information can be found here.
