The University of North Dakota men's hockey team is headed to the Frozen Four in Philadelphia, after defeating Ferris State 2-1 in double overtime Saturday night.

Ferris State's Cory Kane opened up the scoring in the second period, going five hole to beat UND goalie Zane Gothberg and give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead.

UND's Stephane Pattyn answered just three minutes later with a goal for the Sioux.

The teams would need two overtime periods to break the 1-1 tie. UND's Connor Gaarder scored early in the second overtime to give his team a 2-1 win and a birth in the Frozen Four.

This will be UND's 20th appearance in the Frozen Four. They've won seven NCAA titles and 15 conference titles.

UND's next game will be April 10th in Philadelphia.
