North Dakota’s Largest Mural Project is Coming to Life
If you haven't heard, something both historic and magnificent is being done in North Dakota, and it will be hard to miss.
An arts project started several months ago, and now people are starting to take notice of its progress.
The Union Silos painting project started back in May, according to KFYR. Now, months later, you can see the concept is really coming to life.
Travel North Dakota posted to its Facebook page an update on the mural, and people are flooding the comments to applaud the impeccable artistry.
Take a look and see for yourself.
Incredible, isn't it? What a great representation of North Dakota.
According to the post, the mural is being done by an Australian artist/painter named Guido van Helten. Helten did something pretty unique to come up with the design and really capture what it means to live, know, and love North Dakota. He spent months immersing himself in the community to find inspiration.
When completed, the mural will stand at 135 feet and stretch across all four sides of the Farmer's Union Co-op grain silos in Minot. This will be the largest mural in the state of North Dakota.
We applaud all the individuals involved; what a great way to showcase our culture, inspire other artists, and make something largely overlooked and seen as industrial, dirty, and old into something beautiful and symbolic.
Travel North Dakota estimated in the post, that the project will be done by the Fall of 2025. We can't wait to see the finished work.
