The National Weather Service in Bismarck has issued a Wind Advisory and Freeze Warning for the Bismarck area and surrounding counties.

UPDATE (4 pm): A freeze warning has been issued for Bismarck, Mandan and counties listed below. The freeze warning will go into effect at 1 am until 10 am Thursday, October 6th.

This freeze warning could create difficulty for drivers and those working outside, especially on elevated surfaces.

The wind advisory is in effect until 7 pm, Wednesday, October 5th and includes the following counties:

  • Morton
  • Burleigh
  • Kidder
  • McLean
  • Stutsman
  • Emmons
  • Logan

These areas can expect winds of 30-35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

Local residents are advised to secure loose items in and around their house and those working on high structures such as roofs are advised to use caution. Drivers of high profile vehicles in open areas such as the interstate are urged to use caution.
