Your Help Is Needed This Saturday For Bismarck Homeless People
it's something so hard to imagine, yet it is a reality for many
We all go through rough times, you may have lost your job recently, and are trying to land on your feet somewhere else. The pandemic last year wiped out many businesses in town, and in return wreaked havoc on those that may have eventually ended up homeless. So my question to you is, where are the homeless here in Bismarck? I mean, we are so used to our own weekly ritual, head to work, come home, the unfortunate thing is we don't see the homeless, and that's sad.
We are in the middle of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week
According to KXNET (who said it perfectly) "Hunger and homelessness are ongoing issues in the greater Bismarck area (as well as the state), but they tend to be “hidden” issues, not readily apparent to the general public" We tend not to think about what it would be like to be homeless, and it's time we need to know what we can do to help. The statistic is scary, KXNET added "... at least 607 people accessed either emergency or transitional housing in the Bismarck-Mandan area and the surrounding area during 2020" That info was gathered by the Missouri Valley Coalition for Homeless People.
So this Saturday at the state capitol, an event we can all take part in
