The National Weather Service is busy with all sorts of watches, warnings and advisories for the region and the state.

This is no surprise! 24/7 Wall St just released the 50 coldest cities in America and no surprise, North Dakota has several cities in the top spots. The #1 city is not even close to us.

The Arctic air will settle in North Dakota and combined with the wind, the National Weather Service says the wind chills can be very dangerous.

Here we go! The east coast is having a record setting winter. It's been weird to listen to the national news stories covering all of the winter conditions that we in North Dakota deal with on a yearly basis. Granted, this year has been somewhat mild. That is about to change as the area can expect another blast of Arctic air and to complicate the situation, the wind chills will be in the dangerous

The National Weather Service is once again using the term DANGEROUS in order to make the point - temperatures will be in the life-threatening range for the area Friday night into Saturday morning.

Very cold temperatures are expected for North Dakota today through Wednesday. The north central region can expect wind chill values as low as minus 45. This is a very dangerous weather system with very cold Arctic air settling in the area.

Don't let the above normal temperatures fool you as the National Weather Service in Bismarck is predicting snow for the first weekend of the New Year, accompanied with another blast of Arctic air.
