Amazing Tornado In Tappen Captured On (VIDEO)
A line of Thunderstorms developed east of Bismarck yesterday afternoon from just east of Steele into northeast North Dakota near Stump Lake and Nelson county.
One of the storms produced a pretty impressive tornado near the town of Tappen, North Dakota. There were no watches or warnings issued by the National Weather Service prior to tornado touch down. That goes to show, when it comes to thunderstorms you never really know. They can and occasionally do produce tornados with little or no advanced warning.
According to the National Weather Service, a Tornado Warning was issued for parts of Kidder County, North Dakota around 4:45 pm Wednesday. The tornado was spotted by law enforcement and other weather spotters that lasted about 10 minutes about 7 miles east of Tappen and about 8 miles west of Medina. The tornado appeared to stay over rural country and no injuries or damage was reported.
Abbey Messer of Tappen, captured this impressive video right before 5 pm yesterday.
She's seems so calm? Pretty sure I would've been locked tight in my basement if I was that close to a tornado.
I'm not so sure I would be so calm with a twister right next to my property like that. I've seen three tornados in my life, and each time it scared the you know what out of me. With that being said, I love thunderstorms, and I'm a bit of a storm chaser myself. Looks like we have a chance of thunderstorms again today, and a few of the storms could be severe. Let's just hope we get some rain in Bismarck Mandan. As usual, we missed out on just about all the rain yesterday.
