As someone who has rented apartments her entire life, it seems rent just goes up and up and up year after year, with no end in sight. Of course, bigger cities have extremely high rent prices, but where does Bismarck fall in terms of rent prices?

A study was done recently by WalletHub, looking at 180 different cities across the country, including 150 of the most populated, plus two of the most populated cities in each state. They also looked at the median annual gross rent in each state and median annual gross income. With this data, they were able to determine which U.S. cities have the most affordable rent in the country.

The cities with the least affordable rent include: Miami, Florida, followed by Detroit, Newark, New Haven, then Jackson Mississippi.

You will be surprised to hear that the source named the city with the most affordable rent in the entire United States is right here in North Dakota -- Bismarck. It found that the median annual gross rent in Bismarck is only 15.29 % of our median annual income, which is a lot better than most states.

The source also named Sioux Falls as the next most affordable city, followed by Cedar Rapids, then Charleston, West Virginia.

What do you think about this? Do you think Bismarck's rent prices are pretty fair? Tell us what you think in the app.
