Bismarck: Here’s What Is Going Into The Johnny Carino’s Building
Johnny Carino's has been closed now for approximately eight months --since September 25th. Time certainly does fly.
Since Carino's closed its doors, people have wanted to know what will take over the building.
I've been dying to know myself, so I did some digging.
After hearing several rumors, I now have the answer from one of the new owners.
Get ready for delicious Mexican dining! Yep, a new Mexican restaurant will be taking over that space. While we mourn the loss of Carino's, we welcome this new restaurant to the area.
Mayas
The restaurant will be called "Mayas," and a woman named Carmen Tena will run it.
I'm told those running the restaurant have 25 years of experience working in the food industry.
This new restaurant has ties to another Mexican eatery but is very much its own independent entity. The owners tell me they plan to bring the people of the Bismarck-Mandan area a great traditional menu that we are familiar with and that they're sure we will love.
All Good Things Come In Time
Based on a conversation I had with one of the owners, it seems it will take some time before they are ready to open their doors.
They are working hard on the project, but some remodeling and staffing still needs to be done.
With that, we don't have any date or estimate as to when the restaurant will officially open.
Something you may notice: I drove by the building earlier today, and they were painting the outside of the building a golden yellow color.
Keep your eyes and ears open for more updates. Cheers!
