Old man Winter might be hangin' on this winter season.

Something tells me this won't be the last snowstorm we'll go through this season.  However, hopefully, there won't be many more.  As we dig out from the four inches of snow we received in the Bismarck Mandan area the last couple of days, you should keep this in mind from the city of Bismarck.

Don't blow snow into the street or it could be very costly to you.

The fine for such an act could cost you up to $1,500.00 and even jail time, up to thirty days.  Yikes.  According to a press release from the city of Bismarck, businesses, and residents should please move vehicles off streets to aid in snow removal operations.  They will be out in full force today working on areas they didn't get to yesterday.

When it comes to mail clearance within the city of Bismarck, it is the property owner's responsibility to clear snow around their mailbox.  if it is a cluster box, it is the responsibility of those residents to clear the snow from around the cluster box.

The city of Bismarck also asks you to adopt a hydrant.

With the recent snow event, they are asking for everyone's help to clear snow from around the hydrants by "adopting" a hydrant in your neighborhood.  This helps reduce the time it takes for the fire department to get water on a fire by ensuring that they can find access to the fire hydrant when they need it most.  By doing this, you could be saving your neighbor's house or your own in an emergency.  The snow should be cleared 6 inches below all the caps and 3 to 4 feet around the hydrant.

LOOK: What 25 Historic Battlefields Look Like Today

The following is an examination of what became of the sites where America waged its most important and often most brutal campaigns of war. Using a variety of sources, Stacker selected 25 historically significant battlefields in American history. For each one, Stacker investigated what happened there when the battles raged as well as what became of those hallowed grounds when the fighting stopped.

These are the battlefields that defined the United States military’s journey from upstart Colonial rebels to an invincible global war machine.
