Minto, the wait is finally over. The old Ground Round space on East Burdick has sat empty for nine months and now we finally know what's moving in.

New Restaurant Opening in Minot's Ground Round

No, it's not an Italian spot, or another Mexican restaurant. And before you guess, no, it's not another pizza spot. It's a little more North Dakota than that. North Dakotans love a classic, no-fuss meal and a cold beer. That's exactly what we'll get at The Bunker Bar & Grill - it is set to open in the space soon, serving up homestyle comfort food.

Ground Round Closure

It shocked many North Dakotans when the news broke in October of last year (2025) that a staple in Minot was going to close. Ground Round, once located at 2110 E Burdick Expy, Minot permanently closed it's doors on October 22nd.

For nine months, the building sat empty, and left many of us wondering, "What's next?" We want to know what new business will take over the space?

Earlier this week, we finally got our answer. According to a Facebook post, a new restaurant is moving in.

An opening date hasn't been announced yet, but based on the Facebook post, and the updated look of the building, it seems things are moving. We'll have updates as soon as they're available — so bookmark this one, Minot.
