"I don't always violate the HOV lane law ... but when I do, I get a $124 ticket."

That was the tweet the Washington State Patrol posted after one of their officers pulled over a driver near Tacoma who was driving alone in the carpool lane Monday (Mar. 23).

In the seat next to the driver was a cardboard cutout of "The Most Interesting Man in the World" from Dos Equis beer commercials -- which, interestingly, does not count as a passenger.

The driver, who told the officer the Most Interesting Man is "my best friend," was issued the ticket for violating the two-person-per-car minimum required to drive in the HOV lane.
