It's clear that the Philadelphia Eagles made it a top priority this offseason to surround their franchise quarterback, Carson Wentz, with as much talent as possible. They've just added more.

The Eagles added former New England Patriots' running back LeGarrette Blount. He signed a one-year deal worth $2.8 million, as reported by NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.

In 2016, Blount led the NFL with 18 rushing touchdowns. He also ran for 1,161 yards on 299 carries. Blount joins a backfield that already includes Darren Sproles, Wendell Smallwood, incoming rookie Donnel Pumphrey, and Ryan Mathews. Mathews has had a history of frequent injuries and is likely to be the odd man out after the new addition of Blount.

The Eagles have bolstered the offense with playmakers around Wentz since the beginning of free agency. Previously, they acquired wide receivers Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith, while also picking two receivers, Mack Hollins and Shelton Gibson, in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Blount is also a two-time Super Bowl Champion (XLIX, LI) while with the Patriots. We're sure Carson Wentz would have no problem with the newly acquired running back bringing that winning culture to Philadelphia.
