Community Fit Fair in Bismarck Set to Bring Awareness to Suicide Prevention Month
Bismarck State College with the support of the ND National Guard is hosting the Community Fit Fair on Tuesday, September 22 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Shiloh Christian School Athletic Complex.
This free event will give the public a chance to see what a soldier has to do to pass their Army Physical Fitness Test. The Community Fit Fair was created to bring awareness to the issues of suicide in North Dakota as September is Suicide Awareness Month.
Take the challenge as an individual or with a team of four, all ages welcome. The goal is to get the best numbers/time in the following events:
- 2 minutes of push-ups.
- 2 minutes of sit-ups.
- Timed 2-mile run or 2.5-mile walk.
National Guard Soldiers will be at each of the stations to encourage participants in true Army fashion. An award will also be given to the best team.
There will be a wide variety of community wellness booths and displays. The Community Fit Fair is the perfect place to interact with agencies knowledgable in health and fitness to help improve your overall wellness.
