Depending on who you talk to, some of the arrested protesters say the Morton County jail facilities were dehumanizing.

Due to the large amount of people arrested, the Morton County jail had to use temporary holding cells to accommodate protesters being processed. The holding cells are chain linked fences, and these type of accommodations are only used in such a large amount of arrests. Officials say the six cells are 10 feet by 14 feet.

Once the  protesters are processed, they are moved to other facilities. These holding cells have been approved by the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. The protesters have access to everything a inmate would have including meals, water and restroom facilities.

A few of the protesters said the cells are like dog kennels and are dehumanizing.
