Everyday Trials of a Dad: Fake It Till You Make It [PHOTOS]

Sometimes as a dad, your best move is to improvise and hope that your kids don't find out that you REALLY don't know what you're doing.

This happened this weekend. My wife was showing my kids videos of people making beautiful pancake art (like the video above) and somehow our kids got the idea that Daddy could do the same thing! So, when I came home yesterday, I was ambushed by my kids asking me to make them "shape pancakes" in the morning. I love to make breakfast for my kids... so I told them I'd figure it out and try to make that happen.

Early thins morning... I jumped to trying to make shapes.

Fortunately for me, I realized quickly that I had a squeeze bottle that could help me control what I was doing. So I was able to make flowers (like above... it's a vague tulip) flags, and stars.

Fortunately for me... my kids thought these were just as good as some of the artwork they saw in the multiple videos they saw.

Sometimes... you just have to fake it till you make it!
